Aids epidemic in Indonesian jails — 18 April 2008 – Indonesia’s policy of sending drug users to prisons instead of rehabilitation centres has resulted in about 70 per cent of inmates reportedly dying of AIDS-related illness mainly spread through the sharing of dirty needles by drug users.
