I’m sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time with your young son. I’ve been diagnosed with bipolar 1 among other things. One of the most difficult things I had to accept once my treatment started working was the hurt I had caused to my familly. I know it’s tough right now, and you are probably at a loss for what to do but please find solace in knowing that there WILL be a day that your son will take control of his condition and be thankful that he was surrounded by loved ones to help. Study has shown that 60% of mentally ill are also addicts of some sort. I read that he is not taking his meds.. and that’s very common for this illness but more important then the meds is to stop the addiction first. This is called duel diagnosis or concurrent disorder.
Anyways, the help I really wanted to provide you is a book that my parents purchased and it made THEM and myself take control of the situation. Today I am doing much better. Thank God for my parents. Here’s the link to the book I looked up on amazon.
I hope this helps.
