Laurel Avenue – Fleeting Opportunities? – After suffering from a physical abuse from her ex-boyfriend / baby’s father, Rolanda’s lowered self-esteem gets in the way after scoring a job interview that was willing to consider her despite her rocky past. Jake Arnet (Mel Winkler) does his best to encourage his daughter not really knowing that her deep seeded issues have not been resolved after receiving drug counseling. Fletcher (Ulysses Zachary), the star basketball HS player had a lackluster performance on what he thought was a meaningless game before the upcoming playoffs. Keith Arnett (Scott Lawrence), the coach had brought in his college basketball scout to see Fletcher unbeknownst to him. The coach was so embarrassed and frustrated with his star player, that he decided to use tough love and demote his starting position in favor of a teammate (Chad Matz) who has been playing solid.
